The Show Must Go On!
Poor Les Titford has had a nasty sore throat for the last two gigs. Some bands would have cancelled the gigs. Da Management are made of sterner stuff than that. For the first one we welcomed back our old pal Billy B and had a great gig at Shoeburyness Conservative Club. For the second of the two gigs, we asked Billy B, but he could not do the gig in question.
We had a wonderful Plan B. The lovely Lauren Goodwin, who has guested with us a few times, came to the rescue. Les plays guitar and keys, sings and does the bulk of our announcements. We needed to cover various high harmonies (Lauren) and to ask Paul Milligan to cover some of the songs in which Les normally exercises his tonsils. Paul did so admirably.
There were a few versions of different Plan B sets, as you can imagine, but the final version was delivered with vim and gusto. Lauren also sang two great 60s songs. She is a terrific singer.
We were very pleased to fulfil those gigs. There are now 10 good reasons to book Da Management.
